How to Join
Register with Trail Life USA (the national organization) and pay dues of $26 per boy. Begin the registration process by expressing your interest in joining to our Membership Chair, Cielo Zapata, while at our check-in table on Tuesday nights, or by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive a link from Trail Life Connect to register your son(s) and pay the $26 dues. Dues are to be paid annually on the anniversary date of joining Trail Life USA.
Pay the Troop Dues of $0 per boy. The easiest way to pay these dues is right here on this page. A discount will be applied to families with 3 or more boys. Troop Dues are due when first joining and then again, annually, at the start of every new Troop Year (A Troop Year is the same as a school year - i.e. 2019/2020). If you have any problems with paying or need to pay by check, please see our Treasurer, Mario Espaillat. email@example.com
Complete the paperwork. Each Trailman must turn in a Child Medical Form and a Child Covenant. Each parent should turn in a Parent Covenant. All adults participating in any activities, such as going on camping trips, must also turn in an Adult Medical Form. The forms may be downloaded from this webpage. Please turn in this paperwork to our Membership Chair, Cielo Zapata. If you have any questions, you may contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Order your uniform and Trailman Handbook. Uniforms and Handbooks can be ordered at the Trail Life USA Shop. We do have a uniform box that parents leave outgrown uniforms in that you might want to go through first. Some parents have organized group orders to save on shipping. Ask at the check-in table on Tuesday nights to see if someone is organizing such an order.
A Note About Uniforms:
The Uniform will be worn at every regular meeting, unless otherwise specified.
Navigators & Adventurers (Grades 6-12)—The official Troop Uniform is required, complete with Shirt, Pants, Belt, and Socks (Hat Optional). It is strongly suggested that in addition to the uniform you order a T-Shirt too for sweaty work and play.
Woodlands (Grades K-5)—These boys grow fast, and we recognize that. Therefore, a Green Woodlands T-Shirt and any pair of Khaki shorts or pants is the required uniform here. We DO NOT require an official Troop Uniform for Woodlands aged boys, but many do show up in the uniform anyway. (Guess they like dressing up and/or emulating the older boys.)
Becoming an Adult Leader or Registered Adult
Adults wishing participate or adults wishing to lead and have direct contact with our boys will also need to register with Trail Life USA (the national organization) and pay a $26 registration fee. As a condition of joining, adults will undergo a background check, be required to pass a child protection safety class, sign the Trail Life USA statement of faith, and turn in the Adult Medical Form.
Adult Leader Registration Fee Reimbursement Policy
If you are a Leader on the Board or a Leader or Assistant Leader for a Patrol, our Troop will reimburse you for any adult registration fees or First Aid/CPR fees. Place the reimbursement request with Joe Gabriel and he will instruct the Treasurer to cut you a check.
